Cheryl Powers is a Florida native who enjoys practicing in the community in which she grew up. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Anthropology in 1998 and then from StetsonUniversity College of Law, Cum Laude, in 2001. She began her legal career at a personal injury firm, where she handled all aspects of personal injury and medical malpractice cases. After gaining experience in the personal injury sector, she became an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit. While at the State Attorney’s Office she prosecuted hundreds of cases. She was promoted to Lead Trial Attorney and remained as such until she opened her own defense practice in early 2004.
Ms. Powers has handled a diversity of legal cases, concentrating on personal injury and criminal defense with a focus on DUI cases. She has defended hundreds of clients. She is a member of numerous bar associations and her firm has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 2008. She has been recognized as one of the top 100 DUI attorneys in her geographic area by The National Advocacy for DUI Defense, LLC.
Ms. Powers has a reputation for being fair and approachable and enjoys helping others through what may be the most difficult time of their lives.
