The Super Lawyer Selection Process
Super Lawyers has a four-step selection process, to allow attorneys of all ages and experience an opportunity for the title of Super Lawyer. First, an attorney must receive a nomination from their legal peers. Mr. Dyer greatly appreciates the recognition received from his fellow attorneys. Therefore he would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to each one of them. Super Lawyers performs thorough investigations on each qualified candidate in the following 12 categories:
- Verdicts/Settlements
- Transactions
- Representative Clients
- Experience
- Honors/Awards
- Special licenses/certifications
- Position within the law firm
- Bar and/or professional activity
- Pro bono and community service
- Scholarly lectures/writings
- Education/employment background
- Other outstanding achievements
Also, no disciplinary or criminal backgrounds are tolerated of any candidate. Online searches are then performed on the candidate. It is especially relevant to ensure Super Lawyers, nor the Attorney have any disrespectful content is posted online to negatively reflect upon them.
Finally, the nominated attorney undergoes what is referred to as the “blue ribbon review.” Final candidates are evaluated by their peers for their specific practice area. The panel for this review consists of the best candidates from the first two reviews whom did not proceed forward. Furthermore, a selection is made from finalist based on firm size. Allowing the equal opportunity for independent practicing attorneys to large firm lawyers. As a result, as many as five percent of attorneys from each state are titled as Super Lawyers for the year.
