Stephen H. Haskins was raised in Pinellas County and is a graduate of Dunedin High School. Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Florida in December of 1975, having majored in accounting. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in December of 1979 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in July of 1980.
After graduating from Law School, Steve returned to the Tampa Bay area where he has practiced law for the past forty (40) years. Steve has handled a substantial volume of civil litigation and trial practice, both as a Plaintiff’s lawyer and, in his early years of practice as an insurance defense lawyer, in the fields of medical negligence, products liability, insurance coverage, and liability disputes, premises liability, motor vehicle liability, wrongful death, nursing home abuse, and other general tort law and personal injury matters.
Steve has tried many civil jury trials in the various counties of the Florida Gulf Coast. He is a Florida Bar Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, having earned that distinction in 1993, and also a Board Certified Civil Trail Lawyer by the National Board of Trial Advocacy since 1998. Steve is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts in all three of the Federal Districts in Florida, the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts.
Steve is also occasionally called upon by his peers to serve as a mediator in civil cases pending in the Tampa Bay area. He is a Florida Supreme Court Circuit Court and County Court Mediator.
